Take This Story 4 the week of 7/13

Up From Slavery by Booker T. Washington is a fascinating travel through the eyes of Booker T. as a boy, as a slave, as a free man, and most of all a man.

Seldom does a book keep me spellbound. This one took me there and back. I would read it all over again.

For sure this book became my friend. As did Mr. Washington. He is one person I would love to sit down and have a conversation with over a cold glass of lemonade.

While this was written many years ago, its every word rings true in the 21st Century. He was indeed a visionary, a believer that things can and do change. He believed in the possibility of people being those change agents. And he was one.

I highly recommend this on your journey while reading about American history.
